The business

Set up to service the machine in position

Sheppard’s Heavy Tyre Solutions Pty Ltd is a proprietary company registered in Australia and based in Western Australia, postcode 6173. The work is field-first: a heavy tyre is changed where the plant is standing, because floating a loader or a dump truck to a workshop costs more in downtime than the tyre itself.

That shapes everything about how the business is organised. Handling gear, breaking equipment, torque tools and inflation cages go to site with the crew. Jobs are scoped before the truck leaves, so the right casing, valve hardware and rim components arrive in one trip instead of three.

We work across two kinds of customer. The first has a fleet and a maintenance plan, and wants tyres managed as a programmed line item. The second has one machine down, right now, and needs it turning again. Both get the same procedure.

How a job runs

Procedure first, every time

Heavy tyre and rim assemblies store an enormous amount of energy. Working to a fixed sequence is not paperwork — it is the only reason this trade is survivable.

  • Scope

Machine type, position, tyre and rim size, access, ground conditions and site induction requirements confirmed before dispatch.

  • Isolate

Plant chocked and isolated, exclusion zone set, and full deflation confirmed before any bead or lock ring is disturbed.

  • Inspect

Rim, flange, lock ring and bead seat examined for cracking, corrosion and distortion. A suspect rim stops the job, not the crew.

  • Fit

Assembly built, lubricated and seated to the manufacturer sequence, inflated from a restraint, and set to the operating pressure for the duty.

  • Record

Position, casing condition, pressures and any damage written up, so the next service decision is made on history rather than guesswork.

How we think about it

Three commitments we can actually keep

Honest scoping

Tell you what it needs

If a casing is repairable, we say so. If a rim should be condemned, we say that too, even when it turns a quick job into an awkward conversation.

Site discipline

Fit in with your rules

Site inductions, permits, exclusion zones and shift windows are part of the job. Our crew works to your site’s requirements, not around them.

Written history

Leave a record behind

Every attendance leaves a note of what was found and what was done, so tyre spend becomes something you can plan instead of absorb.
